Big Block History

Since the big-block Chevy was introduced in 1964, it and its derivatives have become the dominant power plant in all forms of motor sports. All of Chevrolet's muscle cars of the 60's and 70's including the Corvette, Camaro, Nova, Impala, El Camino, and trucks at one time or another, could have the monster motor installed in it. There are untold numbers of Rat motors in drag racing, circle track racing, boat racing, tractor pulls, and every other form of racing on the planet.

It's so amazing that an engine that debuted 41 years ago is still the power plant of choice in our hobby, but it's tough to beat the big-block's combination of performance, horsepower and torque. cost, and reliability.

This site is dedicated to that concept, The Big Block Chevrolet. Whether it is the 396 that started it all or all the way up the performance ladder thru the 427 and 454 to the big cube 572's and beyond, this site will be the one site on the internet where you can go to find cars, motors, and parts for sale or to sell your own.
